Vimala Raman is an Indian and model, and a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She has acted in Tamil and Malayalam films. She was born and raised in Sydney. She started practicing Bharatanatyam at the age of five. In 2004 she won the Miss India Australia title and Miss India Australia Cyber Queen title. Her first film was Poi, a Tamil film directed by Kailasam Balachander. Vimala Raman participated Natanalaya Dance Academy is based in Sydney, Australia. She studied dance under the direction of Jayalakshmi Kandiah.
